How to Send a Large Parcel with Evri

All Evri services have 2 options when it comes to domestic deliveries - Standard or Next Day. Standard Delivery is cheaper and equivalent to sending a parcel second class with Royal Mail, so you can expect it to arrive in 2-3 days from drop off or collection. Next Day delivery items will be delivered the next working day provided they have been dropped off or collected by noon on the previous working day.
Each service makes it easy to drop off or arrange a collection and easy to track along the parcel's journey.
Evri Size & Weight Limits
Evri parcels have a few simple size and weight limits:
- To find out if your packages are the right size for Evri, simply add together the 2 shortest sides, multiply the result by 2, and add the length. If the total is less than 245cm, it can be sent through the Evri network.
- When using Evri ParcelShops or Courier service, the maximum length (the longest side) is 120cm.
- When using Evri Lockers, the size limit is 66cm x 41cm x 38cm.
- Postable parcels must be letterbox-friendly, which means they can be up to 23cm wide, a maximum length of 35cm, and between 1 and 2.5cm deep (as long as they are under 1kg).
- Evri parcels have a maximum weight of 15kg - you will need to choose the right weight bracket for your parcel to get accurate prices - either portable parcels under 1kg, under 1kg, 1-2kg, 2-5kg, 5-10kg, or 10-15kg.
Evri Prohibited and Restricted Items
Some items are prohibited from being sent in the Evri network, this includes but is not limited to:
- All liquids
- Pressurised containers
- Batteries
- Gardening and Household Tools, unless they are properly protected
- Pesticides
- Cleaning Products
- Toxic Substances
- Pathogens
- Sharp instruments
- Weapons
- Drugs
There are some items that can be sent using Evri services but won't be able to benefit from insurance cover and are excluded from compensation claims. This includes but is not limited to:
Fossils, stones, marble, stoneware
- Glass items
- Cameras, lenses, spectacles and optical equipment such as telescopes or binoculars
- Antiques
- Furniture
- Laptops, computers, TVs, and monitors
- Tobacco and tobacco products
- Real fur
Evri ParcelShops
An Evri ParcelShop location is a convenient alternative to the Post Office when shipping your parcels. Each ParcelShop is located in a local business near you - and there are over 7000 dotted around the whole of the UK.
Once you've booked an Evri service, you can drop your parcel off at the nearest Evri ParcelShop, which is usually a lot closer and more convenient than a Post Office. Shorter wait times, longer opening hours, and the same great service.
Most ParcelShops have label printing devices that will allow you to print your Evri label when you get there - which makes fiddling about with printers and labels another thing of the past!
